Presented by Human Rights Advocates from the Columbia University Institute for the Study of Human Rights. Although it is unanimously agreed that the nation's immigration system is broken, the US Congress has failed to reform the system to address the situation of the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants. However the immigrant communities and immigrant rights organization have warmly welcomed the Executive Order signed by the President on June 15, 2012, providing relief to about 800, 000 undocumented youth (deferred action). What is the extent of that relief? How does it impact on the need for comprehensive immigration reform? This event is co-sponsored by CUPID. **Limited space available. Please arrive on time.
